Since starring opposite Robert De Niro in 1993's This Boy's Life, Leonardo DiCaprio has truly been king of the Hollywood world.
He's racked up credits in Oscar vehicles (1994's What's Eating Gilbert Grape, 2007's Blood Diamond and The Departed, 2010's Inception and 2016's The Revenant, proving that all it took to finally nab that coveted Academy Award was to get brutally mauled by a bear). He's led box office darlings (2013's The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street) and starred in more than a few films that have left a permanent mark on pop culture.
After all, who among us hasn't seen a boat and unsuccessfully fought the urge to head to the bow, arms outstretched Jack Dawson-style?
And while our heart will go on for his work with Kate Winslet in Titanic and Claire Danes in Romeo + Juliet, the three-time Golden Globe winner continues to charm as he adds to his cinematic resume.
Asked last November—as he promoted his latest Oscar contender Killers of the Flower Moon—what he hoped to accomplish before turning 50 on Nov. 11, he told Good Morning America's Chris Connelly, "You know what? Just one more movie. One more movie."
Which he more or less checked off the bucket list, serving as executive producer on the 2024 documentary Checkpoint Zoo that followed the rescue of the thousands of animals trapped inside a Ukranian zoo during the early days of Russia's attack on the country.
The environment and all of its inhabitants remains one of the great loves of the Los Angeles native's life, his work with Re:wild dedicated to protecting and restoring the world's most irreplaceable places and most threatened species.
But DiCaprio has had a bit of romantic fun too. Currently seeing 26-year-old Victoria's Secret model Vittoria Ceretti, his stacked dating history including the likes of Gisele Bundchen, 44, Blake Lively, 37, and Bar Refaeli, 39.
His circle of friends is equally star-studded, with Kim Kardashian, Chris Rock, Snoop Dogg, Salma Hayek and Olivia Wilde turning out to watch the actor rap Gang Starr and Nice & Smooth's 1994 hit "DWYCK" at his 49th birthday party last year.
And while we wait to see which of his bevy of bold-named pals turn up to celebrate his milestone birthday this year, we're never letting go of his past. So set sail with us for a journey through his standout looks.
