Malia White is mourning a devastating loss.
The Below Deck Med star shared her brother Jay has died at the age of 34, noting that his passing came after a struggle with addiction.
"To everyone who knew our brother Jay, it's with a heavy heart we announce the sad news of his death," she wrote in an Oct. 10 Instagram post showcasing photos of him. "Jay was happiest outdoors, especially with a fishing pole in his hand alongside a riverbank with his dog Aspen," she wrote. "To those who had the pleasure of knowing Jay, he was truly a kind soul, willing to help anyone at a moment's notice. This is how we'll always remember him."
Malia, 33, also confirmed that details about a celebration of life for her sibling will be shared at a later date.
In another message shared to her Instagram Stories, the Winter House star reflected on making the decision to detail her brother's story.

She also went on to express her gratitude for those who have reached out in her time of hardship.
"To all those sharing with me similar addiction stories, thank you for your vulnerability," she added. "My heart is with you & your families."
